The Different Crisis of Human life

When children do not get the love, understanding and attention they need they do not realize or learn the full truth about themselves. They do not understand how special they are and as a result feel less lovable.
As we develop from conception to maturity there is a specific time period for the formation of our needs. Life is always a process of growth and development. When you stop growing you begin dying. At different levels of a human life we are bound to question our existence.

If we have not developed or experienced certain needs in our lives we may find it difficult to move on to the next level. A man must continue to feel needed and responsible to others even after retirement from paid employment or he will lose his sense of purpose and vitality. On the other hand too much autonomy can make a woman rigid and defensive.

According to John Gray human experience five crisis in their lives as follows;

1) Birth Crisis Ages -0-7 Years

As babies we bond with our primary care givers or parents and grow through their loving support. Our whole attitude about the world and our relationship to it begins at birth. Our first impressions of life are always the deepest and most lasting . Although a child’s brain is not fully developed at birth, a child is still able to feel and assess their situation.

As children we require many years of getting what we need before we develop our ability to get what we want. When we learn too soon to take care of ourselves, we think we have to do it all by ourselves. We therefore do not value the assistance of others, and we even push away valuable support. We further feel uncomfortable feeling close or intimate to someone.

2) The Silent Crisis- Ages 7-14 years

Quite often, if children do not feel safe to express feelings, then not only do they not tell their parents, but they do not know themselves. At this age, children need someone to ask them interested questions to help them look inside to talk about their experiences, feelings, emotions, and wishes.

If children did not get enough nurturing in the first stage, then in the second stage at first the may resist having fun and continue to pull back in to being a baby. Children at this age are playful but also tend to throw temper tantrums when they do not get their way. These emotional outbursts when handled in a loving and non- suppressive manner are essential for our healthy and emotional growth. This is the basis of feeling secure.
